Express Yourself! Speech, Language & Communication Services welcomes submission of resumes from dynamic and creative individuals with entrepreneurial spirit interested in joining our team. As a member of this well-established Burlington-based private practice, you will provide assessment, direct intervention, and consultation services to children experiencing a full range of communication difficulties. We are currently accepting resumes for the following positions:
Speech-Language Pathologists
Preschool and School-Aged Services
Speech-Language Pathologists at Express Yourself! provide assessment, treatment, and consultation services to preschool and school-aged children experiencing oral motor, severe articulation, and complex language difficulties. Services are provided on-site in our Burlington offices and within private schools located in Burlington and Oakville. A minimum of 3 years clinical experience is required. A positive and energetic work style is essential!
Adult Services
Express Yourself! is currently exploring the expansion of services to adults with communication disorders. If you are interested in developing on-site services for adults experiencing voice disorders, articulation difficulties, accent reduction, or stuttering, please forward your letter of interest and resume as soon as possible. Those interested in developing and providing off-site communication services to adults with head injuries and/or neurological speech and language needs are also welcome to apply at this time.
Music Express! Program
Music Express! is an innovative group program for children experiencing communication difficulties and/or developmental delay. The program combines elements of music, movement, and rhythm to develop oral motor, articulation, language, and social communication skills, and is led jointly by a speech-language pathologist and music therapist. Group sessions run primarily on Saturdays, in 10-week blocks (October – early December and February – April each year) and are offered both in Burlington and Waterloo (Wilfrid Laurier University). Weekday sessions for infants, preschoolers, and school-aged children will begin in Burlington in September 2006.
Music Therapists
Music therapists interested in providing adapted piano and/or guitar lessons to children with special needs are invited to apply! You will work with children with various developmental and/or cognitive challenges, teaching them to play the piano or guitar. Children participating in adapted music lessons demonstrate clear musical ability and interest, but require individualized teaching methods.
Music Teachers
Music teachers interested in teaching piano to typically developing children are also invited to apply! Siblings of children attending other therapies in our clinic have expressed a strong interest in developing their own musical talents while their brother or sister is receiving their own speech/language or music therapy session.
